Bio
I was an art major at the collage I attended in the San Francisco Bay Area and, as with most young adventurers just starting out, I had grand ideas of my future. That grandness was one of living the life of a Bohemian, as an artist. But, the path led me in the direction of retail and merchandising, first Macy's and then Saks Fifth Avenue, and on to various small retail stores until I found myself as part owner of a women's clothing store in Truckee, California.
It was in Truckee I met my husband, John, and found my way back to the art world. He was (and still is) a leaded stained glass artist with his own studio and an incredible talent for glass art. After years of touring the U.S. together, we opened a lovely little studio in Carson City, Nevada. It was here that I began working with various forms of glass art such as painting on glass and china, working with metal oxides, and fusing techniques. At the same time I was learning the art of sculpting with wire.
And so I guess you could say I am leading the life of an artist, following a passion and continuing to look for new and innovative ideas. I continue to work with glass, expanding my line of work, and selling wearable art. I work with the highest quality of materials, always keeping an eye out for originality and perfection.
I recently started to incorporate crystals and other components into my work as well as adding new techniques such as wire weaving and beadwork. My husband and I call Carson City, Nevada, our home but we spend a great deal of our time in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. In 2007, our travels took us to California, Oregon and Montana where we sold our artwork at a number of art events and juried festivals. We'll continue to travel since that is part of the adventure.
My goal is to be open to new artistic concepts, to continue a standard of high quality artistic integrity, and to maintain the professional standard of individuality in the field of wearable glass and wire art.
Thank you for sharing an interest in my passion.
